| reply to siikosane Re: OOL FTP speed test is BULLSHIT
Your speeds will vary with the site (only can be as fast as the server can dish out), site is busy, Internet traffic, routing, problems with routers, etc.
Can you give me a link that I can try? One that I can get to from my browser and that does not need any "special" program. -- Tell me what you eat, and I'll tell you what you are. |

| I was downloading from some Russian site at the whopping speed of 1.2kB/s. EVERY server you download from will give you varying speeds of 0kB/s to over 1mB/s... you just never know, no matter how fast your connection is. -- Howie's DOCSDIAG for Toshiba and Terayon Cable Modems. |

Try this. Its only 4mb, but i used to download at around 500 from there, while my friends got 800+ now I get 160 for 2 seconds than it drops down to 93. |

It is a rather small file to use as a speed test. You need something big, like one of the M$ "monster" SPs. -- Tell me what you eat, and I'll tell you what you are. |

| reply to siikosane Yes, speakeasy is kilobits. --------------- Do a tracert to that site in the link that you gave me and let's see if there is something in the routing. --------------- On that OOL "speedometer" test, it usually sucks for me.
