First, as you've seen in this and other threads, there's been a general slow down in parts of LI during peak evening hours lately. You might be seeing some of that.
Second, as Josh Said, you may be somewhat limited by 80211.b. You could try hard wiring to your router or directly to your SB4100 to see if that's an issue.
And third... the BEFW11S4 has a 10 mb/s WAN port. Thus the well known issue between the SB4100 and 10 mb WAN port routers will be seen. The best speeds with that combo will be in the ~5 mb/s range.
So if you want to pin down where you're getting less speed than the rest of us, first run the ftp speed test directly connected to the SB4100 if possible. If speeds are faster, try hard wired to the router. If speeds aren't faster, call your friendly OOL tech support person.
If your speeds are faster with connected to the SB, you will have localized the slow down to the 10 mb WAN port, and/or 802.11b. |
