how bout the directtv infomercial running in a loop on one of their channels.....

for one thing, the woman needs to be pushed out of a fast moving car.....

and the funniest bit is how during the whole "let me show you how fast this satellite internet really is" if you happen to look at the top of EVERY browser window ... in bold clear as day words you see-

WORKING OFFLINE

i mean geez..... how on earth does that make the cut?

Mrs. Baker...In case you haven't figured it out by now, the "T1" comment you made in a certain communication that I posted on the world wide interweb thingie was the last straw.

I will not stop until you are in the free cheese line. Have a nice day.

Thank you for the link to the video. ROFLMAO! Of course they don't tell you that DSL is shared too, just in a different place, and that slowdowns happen with it as well....

Actually this is a download manager that is built into Opera 6.05.

Not a d/l accelerator.

*********

As far as ADSL, that I have had.

It was very reliable and the bandwidth was almost always there for the "taking".

Down sides I found were that Interleaving was turned on (error correction) and such was set "high". Thus my latency was about twice as much as it "should" be.

*Game pings to good broadband servers...ranged around 100ms to 250ms ;-(.

Secondly, the download speeds were capped at 512kbps.
(however, the upload speeds were 384kbps).

*******

So, as far as reliability, my old ADSL broadband was by far (compared to my latest Power Link "speeds" and latency) more useful and reliable to Adelphia's Power Link.

*******

Why did I switch?

I switched for several reasons...the biggest one being that I wanted to get faster download speeds (and upload if that would be possible) and more importantly, LOWER PINGS!

With Adelphia's Power Link, as all surely by now know, my speeds have been so horrible that I have taken up to complaining about this service via official channels, to their competition, and to my wife (she hears it every dang day...she's ready to scrap the whole thing).

There will come a time I will just dismiss this account in its entirety and "move back" to the place I started from.

**********

Every day, it seems I am talking to someone and my Power Link connection comes into the conversation...sadly Adelphia is getting "bad word of mouth" from me, with concerns to their Power Link offerings.

When would this "bad press" stop? Well, fixing the network in my area is the logical solution. Then I can be passing on "good press".

Anyway...

BTW.. that DSL COMMERCIAL is apart of a series.

I have three of them. The "funniest" one is the one that starts out with the street sign on the ground and it gets "ugly" in the neighborhood.

LMAO.

I have it "zipped" somewhere. Someone else here has them, I forget who now.
