| i am in the same boat in dallas. phone, cable, and internet all through at&t. not only do i not get a discount, but my prices have continuously increased over the last year and a half. because cable tv packages increased so much, i had to downgrade to a lower package because it got way too expensive. and still i've watch marginal increases every 3-6 months on my cable bills (i use microsoft money so i have a complete history of payments made). i signed up for internet, even went so far as to buy my own modem, only to have them increase rates on me the month afterwards by $7 a month.
i've asked for discounts only to be denied because the phone, cable, and internet departments don't even know what the other is doing. i get solicited on my phone all the time to get at&t cable and internet. i get spammed online to get at&t phone. i get direct mail asking me to join up with at&t this or that service. when they call i constantly tell them that i already have their service and to please stop calling, they still call.
i've asked how long it will take to get billing merged so that i can receive a discount on line items, and all they say is wait. bills are wrong half the time, and i spend at least an hour every month getting them to fix incorrect billing. i've been waiting for over a year and a half, and have seen nothing but increased bills. i don't know about other cities, but in dallas, if you are a loyal at&t customer, they really don't care. |
