HEEEEELLLLLPPPPP

Do I have to pay money for the phone company to install a different wall jack or can I just use the jacks that I use for my phone. Is the $110 setup fee charged by qwest enough to get me up and running? Does the Netgear RT388 support this configuration? Basically I am asking how/what type of cable is needed to connect my wall jack to a router and if phone wall jacks are OK for ISDN.

Hello and welcome. Please read the FAQs on this forum at »ISDN - an alternative to Broadband. You may also visit my web site (see the link below) and read the FAQs there.

I don't know about Qwest but Verizon doesn't come inside and do wiring unless I request it and pay extra for it. A standard phone jack and a pair of wires is all that is needed though.

Hey,

No need to shout...

Your phone wall jack should be fine as long as you have an extra pair of wires that your house isn't using. Just make sure you wire the jack to the same color as the ISDN lines are wired too.

Example:

Phone Line #1 (Analog)
Blue-White/Blue - jack should be wired the same.

Phone Line #2 (ISDN)
Orange-White/Orange - jack should be wired the same.
