| Someone Who Knows Cogeco
Hey, I called in for a credit to Cogeco on the slow/blocked uploads and I was told it was a value added benefit or some such jazz. Anyone else get that? I would think that I am paying to upload/download. So basically I get to just download I guess for my fee. |

| Being able to upload is not a value added benefit, you have to, due to the nature of the internet be able to send before ye shall receive. Not sure I want to touch the whole credit thing though (I mean that part of the thread and whether it's justified) -- Why soar with the Eagles. Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines. |

| I have to admit, I was shock when I was told that. If Cogeco did something that hindered uploading, why would they not offer a credit? At home to date, I still cant do any online gaming or file transfers. ICQ and MSN just started working the other day. I mean I am not running a ftp server here. Just chatting and the random online shoot em up session, thats it. |

Because in the AUP, Section/Line 18 pretty much states probably why they wouldn't offer a credit...
Once again, taken from the Acceptable Use Policy at www.cogeco.com/aup

(and they were the ones to put it in big letters)

Wow, what a business... |

Actually, they would have to. There's a difference between not making any guarantees about the quality of service and not providing service at all. I'm not a lawyer though so take it for what it's worth. |
