Yeah I quite like the idea of having a British chat forum for all the other stuff not related to broadband but what is still of a British nature. It would be good to have the forum something similar to that of the city chat forums we have now.

edit: Initial question changed

The UK is part of Europe only when it is convenient. Well known fact!

There are 96 posters showing in the UK forum at the moment.

If just half of those where to post in a UK chat forum there would be more than what are posting in some of the US chat forums, the lowest there has 10 posters. Therefore the number of members shouldn't be an issue as it obviously isn't for those in the US.

I understand what you are saying there Laffalot, but of course participation is always another issue...for example, I know we have hundreds...how many not really sure, but lots and lots of San Francisco Bay Area members/users of the site here, but only getting 62 (currently) posters in our SF Bay Area Chat Forum I consider pitiful...

That's not to say I'm either for or against the British Chat forum, just would hope it could be supported, for that matter more of the location forums could be supported...but I guess that's not what people really come here for is what I'm thinking.

I like the idea. I'm lacking in anything useful to say in the UK Broadband forum due to my limited knowledge. I would enjoy contributing to an informal UK chat forum.
Politics, current affairs, entertainment, pot pourri e.t.c. I would hopefully be able to add something interesting.
Bring it on.

My GF was asking about a British forum as well. She has very little interest in Broad Band topics but would be very interested in a British "other topics" forum.

Because us Canadians have a forum that is exactly what your asking for. I assume you have a large amount of British people to support it though?

How about one forum (International Chat), and forced title choices as [United Kingdom], [Australia], [Asia], etc. etc, anything else not already having a forum.

Could work like that, however since the UK already has a BB forum of it's own then it must warrant it's own chat forum. Heck we must be the 3 largest area for users behind the Americans and the Canadians.

Having an international chat forum would mean that there would be a lot of posts that where not relevant to you, a bit like all the different US city chat forums. However I suppose you could then need to have city chat forums for all the other areas

I think a UK chat forum would have more posters than the UKBB forum has. This is because I am sure there are many ex-pats here that who would love a place to read, post and discuss the happenings of there old home.

Just my 2 cents again;)
