Clean setup

This is pretty much our standard divisional setup. Full T pipe, fiber from the switch to the servers.

Thanks for the comments. That's not actually where I work, but one of our divisions. Yes, that is an HP switch - 4108GL. Pretty sweet switches, and well worth the money since they run a version of Cisco IOS. The new ones are even layer 3.

I have never seen the "short" Compaq racks. I always buy the full 42U racks. (The old style 42U has an over-sized base that makes them too tall to fit through standard doors. Ever "tip" a full rack to fit through a dooway?)

Nice clean set up otherwise.

Yeah, we have 2 of the "Full" size racks at our Data Center. We did have to tilt them to get them in the door. Actually, the fans aren't that noisy at all, but in a server room, I'd take a little noise over heat damage any day.

It looks like a compaq rack type enclosure w/ maybe 2 5u systems with an external raid/storage array

must be early in the morning

I would not mind knowing what it does either.. I presume all servers are on Gigabit ? They must be doing a hefty job if they are on that type of connection
