Does anyone know the "Real Reason" Sprint ION/BizDSL shut down? They were making money on the Service! Don't They still have the SprintBBD Wireless and the FastConnect DSL? Did they need a Big Tax Write off because they were "Cookin" the Books on overall Revenue? It just doesn't make sense that you can "make Money by NOT making Money" but maybe that is the new Business Model! ...................................M D C |

| I would have to question if they were making money. Here in Austin, I could have been the only person on this dslam. I don't know, but there was no marketing. And honestly, it would take a major effort to achieve a market share where you could afford the infrastructure as well as all of the employees. They downsized their service areas in a major way. |

Mine is still cranking along serving FTP at 768kbps upload been up 99.999% since April 4th, 2001
best damn service ever, hate to see it go
and I can't speak for all the financials, I do know that Sprint does NOT cook any books, as you see other Telecomm's doing, they (as stated) did a SHITTY job marketing a great product (ION/HSD) but also the ILEC squeeze out, made a CLEC product even that more challenging.
my 2 cents...
my speakeasy 1500/384 will have to suffice, it's fine for gaming on (actually 22ms ping to 3rd hop, which is one of 11 major backbones), so I ping 70 pretty much anywhere in the USA, provided their end is decent via connection and server box. -- Alan Falk |
