| Re: Irony I don't think the free goods charge goes to all the record company employees to have all the free records and DVD's they want. The execs, managers, mixing engineers, producers, lawyers (oh the humanity!), and hit writers might get a grab at the freebees but I doubt Rufus the mailroom clerk or Betty in accounts receivable are getting anything but donuts on Friday.
They do happen to do a lot of music giveaways by the way. Ever wonder about when a radio station says, "I have the new *insert artist here* CD here for the 35th caller." comes from? Also giveaways have to done for other corporate decision makers like the record and outlet stores and such. Lets not forget that Payola has to come from somewhere. I doubt they would have it as such in their accounting books.
