It was just a suggestion, you may have to but if there is another way around it then that's cool! -- UHF: "Stuuupiiid! You're sooo STUUUPIIIID!" |

Nam Vet4Premium join:2001-12-03 Allentown, PA | reply to Nam Vet4 i went back there and got the same "no buttons" window but i remembered from last year (2 1/2 months of e-mail to m$ support and i ennded up fixing the prob myself) any way the buttons magicly appeared after hitting the tab key!!
but WHY SHOULD I NEED TO DO THIS? -- OFFICIAL BAIL BONDSMAN TO THE NFL |

 | reply to Nam Vet4 I may be wrong, but it looks like your monitor's resolution is not set high enough to view the page. -- Time is eternal, there is no true end and no true start. |

jsouthJsouth join:2000-12-12 Wichita, KS | reply to Nam Vet4 Try uping the resolution a tad and try new drivers for your video card too. |
|
 | reply to Nam Vet4 Looks to me as though you have set a large text size in IE.. (view - text size) or perhaps you're using your own stylesheet? The text on the page in your screenshot isn't supposed to be that large in relation to the other content, and because it is, the buttons don't have room. |

Ok two machines both 98se, both ie5.5(all patches) both set at 800 x 600
on the bottom ss the buttons became visable after i hit "tab"
the freakin windows are different!!
i dowloaded and installed the sw for the new v4 pages when m$ started using the v4 pages a while ago
i dl'ed the v4 sw just now for the wifes machine!!!!!!!!!
WAS the v4 sw i got a while ago the prob ????????
btw 800 x 600 is normal for a 14" monitor i'll go blind if i set it higher! -- OFFICIAL BAIL BONDSMAN TO THE NFL |

Re: [W98] OH NO not AGAIN NOW i am wondering if something as simple as this could have caused the missing buttons at windows update last year!
2 and half months of email and phone calls ,i was bumped up twice and at the end was dealing with someone in redmond i also sent them numerous screen shots.
I was never asked to check the message box text size! it's not like "display properties" is a 3rd party app its PART OF the OS! -- OFFICIAL BAIL BONDSMAN TO THE NFL [text was edited by author 2002-12-06 14:25:33] |

nwilcox join:2001-11-28 Marysville, MI | reply to Nam Vet4 Ever think of going to a new version of Windows???? I do not have this problem with XP Home Edition. And never had this problem with ME. After all Win98 is not supported anyway. |
|
Nam Vet4Premium join:2001-12-03 Allentown, PA | yes it is still supported |
|
nwilcox join:2001-11-28 Marysville, MI | Microsoft may have changed the date again but my point is !!! Move on already !!!! |
|
 Nam Vet4Premium join:2001-12-03 Allentown, PA
| what do you do work for m$ when i do move on it will be to a mac or linux
MY POINT WAS a minor settings change from default should not cause problems with something like this (getting updates over the net)
not EVERYONE can afford a new os every time a LITTLE glitch causes a problem
M$ missed the boat here AGAIN they could have made that window resizeable or not have used message box text -- OFFICIAL BAIL BONDSMAN TO THE NFL [text was edited by author 2002-12-06 13:30:01] |

Why? Because we are told to?
98 RULES!
It's a tad unstable... though I like to call it, dynamic.
There are more W98 devices on earth than all other operating systems put together, and there is more software available for that system than all the others, as well.

Re: [W98] OH NO not AGAIN I think you should ask santa for a new monitor. A 14" monitor is not ideal for websurfing and whatnot...
PingPong3 has the right idea. The text size being large didn't leave enough room for the buttons. I bet if you dragged the window up so the top part is off the screen, your buttons would show up (along with the bottom of the window.) Anytime this happens, that indicates the resolution is to low, or the monitor isn't big enough. [text was edited by author 2002-12-06 14:35:23] |

| I do hope to get a bigger and better one soon, but the wife uses a 14" also (see screen shot above) so the problem was caused by the message box text size in display properties being bumped up a little
This is after m$ forces everyone to enable active x !
And that window is NOT resizeable.
