| reply to epearce I work with a pair of ex-ION hardware engineers. They have gotten tired of my bantering about this issue...
"Can I do this with it?"
"No."
"Can I do that with it?"
"No."
"What CAN I do with it?"
"Nothing."
Auugh! $100.00 piece of hardware, that can do nothing!

| reply to epearce I found a good use for mine...
I use it as a stand for a AC/DC TV in one of the Automotive TV Bags made for a combo TV/VCR... add just enough height, and it has the weight to make it feel stable.
Now if I can hack into the batteries to make it power the TV, and DVD player.. THAT would be cool... |

You CANNOT use your ION hub to verify if a DSL signal is on a line, in an attempt to doublecheck connectivity.
Also, you CAN open your hub, to find a serial port. From this dumb terminal port, you can concievably program your C50.
W/o any documentation, good luck.
W/ Documentation, you could theoretically program the ION hub to work with other DSL providers, and have an intelligent hub, w/ load balancing and traffic shaping on the customer side.
But why bother? |
