Re: ION Hub?

Maybe you Sprint ION and us DirecTV DSL customers could get together with our useless hardware at a shooting range and have us some target practice.

Hmm... interesting. I plan to pick up Phrider's hub shortly for my own personal evil plans...
Keep us posted on the success of your evil plans...

I'm happy to have the hazardous waste in the lead-acid batteries for the C100 hub off my hands!

No.

You CANNOT use your ION hub to verify if a DSL signal is on a line, in an attempt to doublecheck connectivity.

Also, you CAN open your hub, to find a serial port. From this dumb terminal port, you can concievably program your C50.

W/o any documentation, good luck.

W/ Documentation, you could theoretically program the ION hub to work with other DSL providers, and have an intelligent hub, w/ load balancing and traffic shaping on the customer side.

But why bother?

Call SPCS CS, ask them u been thinking about upgrading phones, and they may give you a credit. Do hurry, offer is limited time and is set to expire @ any time.

For more info on other plans and goodies,

Trade Hub for PCS phones.. .don't push it.

(Though if u are a SPCS customer for 9+ months, you can get a significant discount on a new 3G phone).

yeah let me know how that exchange goes

I haven't changed from regular PCS to vision either, so a free upgrade might be nice

*I haven't upgraded because I have no current use for color and web functions on my fon.

My 3 friends and I all have hubs because I got them to sign up initially. Maybe if we take them to a Sprint Store I can exchange them for a new 3G phone?

I shot mine.

It felt great. It helped me get over my Sprint Ion blues.

I found a good use for mine...

I use it as a stand for a AC/DC TV in one of the Automotive TV Bags made for a combo TV/VCR... add just enough height, and it has the weight to make it feel stable.

Now if I can hack into the batteries to make it power the TV, and DVD player.. THAT would be cool...

You could do us all a favor by using it like a brick and dropping it on J-Lo's head.

I work with a pair of ex-ION hardware engineers. They have gotten tired of my bantering about this issue...

"Can I do this with it?"

"No."

"Can I do that with it?"

"No."

"What CAN I do with it?"

"Nothing."

Auugh! $100.00 piece of hardware, that can do nothing!
