Hi. I'm in Antioch IL - need DSL or Cable options since DirecTV DSL is going down in 30-90 days.
Am I limited to AT&T @Home for Cable? I mean, that would be
fine if I could get it, but it's not available here... any
other Cable would be perferrable over Ameritech DSL. |

Some parts of antioch seem to have attbroadband/comcast.net available. Did you try calling them?

Antioch IL, 60002 does not seem to be connected from what they have said. Ive called at least a dozen times, but I will try again both in attbb chat and over the phone. thanks for letting me know about this. we have att cable TV but not cable internet.

I don't know where the central office is in Antioch, but you could get SBC DSL if you live close enough. |

To all who want to know. There will be a wireless high speed option in the Antioch area and generally the entire central area of Lake County shortly! This company is called db3 Broadband. We have setup our NOC Directly on two DS3's and are using the best wireless gear out there, produced by Motorola. We are starting beta testing in certain areas and will be beta testing in Antioch in late Jan and offering service in Feb. We are well funded, partnered with Motorola and Xtratyme Technologies - The largest WISP in the country!
If you want to be a beta site we will install for free and set you up with free service until we start billing that area. We will be offering free months for referrals also. All you need is an Ethernet card and, for now, line of site to our tower. We will be mobile and NLOS when fully implemented (A few months after initial roll out)

|  Ameritech's DSL is great. I've had it for 2 years now and maybe 2x it's been down and when it was down....it wasn't for long. db3vpsales....how can you say dsl is slow?????? I have the 1.5/256 package and my downloads are at a consistent 1.34meg and the upload is at 248.....ping times.....pinging yahoo I get 34ms....there are no delays in page loading...no problems whatsoever....I have customers getting their dsl connected within 2 weeks of placing their orders. Tech support....well, it's better here.

I live in Lake Bluff/Knollwood (just north of Lake forest). I was going to go with DirectTV DSL until they cancelled. I'd like to know what my options are for CABLE and DSL. Anyone in this area satisfied with their service? I'd like to hear... |
