But first, could you please tell me why and how you could waive the fee? I can't do that, they can't do that, but why can you and how? |

 | reply to HomeLvr I'm in (if you can get a commitment back on the deal by sometime tomorrow). If it's going to drag out til next week I'm not so sure as I hope to have the suspense of all this over sooner than later. -- Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental. |

Yeah me too, I might have until Monday (at the latest to decide), but if Covad wants to ship me a modem it will be harder for me to bailout with them and with a seamless transition I might not want to at that point.
Cyberonic must understand that people are making their decisions right now, maybe they are waiting to see how many they will get regardless whether there is any deal or not. Hell, if they could just take my order without me having to have a full cancellation first that in itself would eliminate the other thing holding me back. Covad doesn't care about DTV DSL one way or the other and will set me up right away. Of course the service speed isn't the same and it's got that awful PPPoE and no static...but there's a trade-off with any choice the way I see it. [text was edited by author 2002-12-19 20:57:41] |

Count me in! Count me in. I just got the disconnect email from Directv DSL today. So, I'm ready to choose a provider. Cybersonic looks good. |

Craig3281$Premium join:2001-05-01 North Palm Beach, FL | reply to HomeLvr I thoroughly investigated Cyberonics and they seem to be a fairly reliable no-frills Internet provider. I called at least twice attempting to work out a deal which they dismissed. Unless things have changed I seriously doubt they'll waive the set-up fee. Additionally and maybe I'm wrong but if your served by BellSouth the maximum upstream will be capped at 256. I couldn't get any information whether they provided news or limitations regarding attachment size on e-mail. Wish you luck and AHaxton, thanks for helping out! -- Halbert Associates - Looking for a Web Developer? |

Ditto for me (Wellington). Thats why I'm surprised that its available to AHaxton...he is about 10-15 miles from me. Well, thats the way that goes [text was edited by author 2002-12-19 22:40:03] |

HomeLvrPremium join:2002-01-01 Atlanta, GA | reply to HomeLvr Im over 20k away from the CO. No with bellsouth as telco it does not cap the upstream. I can order anything with more than 256 upstream. |
|
 | 20K? Doesn't that mean your on an RT? |

HomeLvrPremium join:2002-01-01 Atlanta, GA | reply to HomeLvr i dunno. I got like almost 1200 down and like 110 up on directv so probably. |
