| [General] Hughes/DirecWay Upgrade Program
I just got a nice letter from Hughes, offering to upgrade my DirecPC to Direcway. It includes software, IRU, feedarm and DUO upgrade kit (in my case). They quoted a $39/month and $49/month price with $10/month off if I sign a contract.
First off, I thought DirecPC and DirecWay were both Hughes? Why should I change (I get 5 more email accounts that I wouldn't use). Is the service different (better stronger faster less FAP)?
Secondly, if my system (which is tight thanks to this board) is giving me absolutely flawless service, should I modify it for a $50 credit and possible savings for one year? The price goes back to what I am paying now after my contract is up.
Can anyone shed more light on this "upgrade program" or is it just a sales tactic.
Merry Kringle

| reply to bikegod The current tide of information is indicating the DirecPC is on the demise and DirecWay will be the only pathway. I would however consider the small initial expense and added monthly expense (unless you deduct your current dial-up ISP charges) to move onto a SRS DirecWay system.
