quote: Jtag software that allows you to dump or program flash chips. This should work with just about any device that uses an ST-20 based processor. (sti-5500, sti5505, sti5510, ect) This version has serial eeprom programming capability, and fully supports the intel 28F320 flash type.

Willing to give away my gateway for shipping + $5. Says model 10-X203 on back. Can ship whole box came in(6 lbs) incl filters, etc or just the gateway(lighter, less $$). Email if interested. It pisses me off thousands of these buggers are going to the landfills. |

@covad.net | reply to paul_c_randall Re: NYC/DirecTV Broadband Gateway reprogramming
I just recently got canned from DTV and switched to Earthlink DSL (which really sucks by the way). I've been searching for a way to reprogram my X203 but have been unsuccessful as well. If you come up with something it would be appreciated. |

@nac.net | reply to parasonic I would like to learn more about what you are doing. I am guessing you are trying to reprogram the flash. BDM is a hardware connected Debugger? I was trying to learn this stuff but it is difficult for an absolute newbie. |

| reply to SMCinAZ I have about 20 ADSL boxes retired from clients using DTV Internet. One is a white box, what I think everyone is referring to as "brick". Question: Are these worth attempting to us as ADSL routers for other ISP accounts? What will we gain by figuring out the admin password? If these gateways are worth anything how can anyone get a admin password? |

| reply to apilosov Where can I find a 56 pin SSOP to SMC adapter, and then a 56 pin SSOP to DIP adapter for the programmer? Enough research for now If it will help, I will label my pictures with the part numbers and some reference material for all of the chips. What may not seem important could be very integral to knowing what hardware is for what address or pin and could be absolutely needed to get anywhere. -- "We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own.
