A Nice Place to Live in Houston, TX??

What would be a good area in Houston to live? I've heard a few bad things about crime in Houston. I was just wondering if there would be a nice place to live in Houston or like around Houston. Thank You.

That would have a lot to do with what you like.
When I moved here I looked in the Woodlands and Sugar Land and chose Sugar Land because it was closer to my office.

Good Luck.

I'm looking for a part that's like high tech, but with low crime. Like something with high tech jobs.

Beltway 8 @ 290 has a lot of tech stuff in that area; fairly low crime.

And maybe a medium-large population area as well.

Re: A Nice Place to Live in Houston, TX??

I live in Sugar Land and i love it, it has minimal crime, tons of places to eat, has good shopping and anything else you'd need. Been living here for 15 years.

Do any homes in Sugar Land have a basement or is the water table too high? I'd like to have a basement. Thanks

there aren't many if any homes in this part of Texas that have basements. Some office buildings do but i don't know of any homes that do.

I live on the west side of Houston. Very nice over here, but finding a nice house can be a real bitch.

I want a basement so bad because it's a great place to have a computer. Stays nice and cool without any adjustments.

That won't be a problem -- most all homes here in Texas have central air conditioning!

I wasn't even thinking of the high temperature down there. I don't know how I forgot about it.

I don't think you're gonna find much with a basement here. But if you're looking for a real project, set up your systems in the garage and see how long they last...

If your looking for a house stop by »har.com/indexc.htm and you might find a house with a basement. Although i've never seen a Texas house with a basement, there could be some. Thats where i found my house.
