 Once again....

quote:

"Nonstop downloads—that is, you're downloading the content of the Library of Congress using [Code Division Multiple Access] 1X and are connected 24-by-7....are not allowed."

Don't advertise the service as "unlimited" if you aren't prepared to live up to your end of the deal.

Agreed, this kind of switch and bait BS is getting old and hopefully people are getting tired of it aswell. If only people would rally to stop this type of BS advertising I would definately support it.

You need to bait before you can switch. But anyhow...

Providers need to have some sort of foresight as far as establishing their plans. A bigger problem than them backpedaling on their originally offered plans is that they didn't stop to think that someone would go bandwidth/call/download crazy if they made something unlimited. If they'd stop and think about the future for once instead of being giddy beyond belief with the idea of new subscribers and more dough, then stuff like this wouldn't happen.

Sure would be nice to be eligible for broadband..any kind of broadband.

You even said it yourself, that is a bait and switch.

Once again, we need what is above. BS, jese, can't we just get rid of it?

Unlimited means just that, unlimited, not what you think. Until the dictionary says otherwize, unlimited in my book means, without any limit of any kind.

And?

My first point was that it's called bait and switch, not switch and bait.

My second point was that they wouldn't have to look back and scramble to think of some legal crap to cover their rears when realize that they're operating illegally if they would just take the time to think through the decisions they make in the first place. Wouldn't you prefer that they make good decisions that they don't have to weasel out of than what is happening right now?

I think some folks around here seriously prefer when a company screws up just so they can bash them.

We bash them not so much for screwing up but for changing the rules mid-game. Don't sell us one thing and then say, "OOOPS, sorry. We need to reduce our responsibility but we won't reduce the price."

What VZ did was not think through their decision. They wanted to get in the game so badly, they forgot to check the details. Someone at VZ screwed up big time.

I have seen cell phone companies advertise unlimited nights and weekends. So if I call a friend Friday at 9pm and leave the phone on and connected until Monday at 5am, is that wrong? No because that is what they offered me. If they want to limit me then don't give me unlimited and then redo my yearly contract. You promised, now deliver.
