| HELP! Can someone check why my cap changed???
Hi!
I have had Ameritech SBC 768/128 DSL since May '2000. Up until recently it was capped at 896/160. However, running a speed test today I find I am only at 321/109. A friend of mine let me use his 5660 to check sync rate and line quality. With this we found that I am now capped at 384/128 while max obtainable is 1,600,000/914,285. Noise margins of 19.5/24.0 were detected. My normal modem is a Westel. I have an unbundled loop.
Can one of the SBC online support people check my line and set the correct caps. If possible I would also like to be switched from interleave to fastpath at the same time (standard 768/128 profile). |

| Try resetting your modem..... it doesn't train up, but does train down with line problems or signal loss...
This happened to me last weekend, went from 1300/245 to 650/245 and I almost had a friggin baby!! A modem reset fixed it... Try that first, and if that doesn't work, SCREAM for help like hell, and pray ADSL Guy or someone reads your message -- If you have to ask what EFNET is, you don't need broadband |

| reply to bonzoculp2 I am the one who loaned him the 5660. I also had him start this thread and IM ADSL Guy. The 5660 syncs at 384/128 every time but shows 1600/914 maximum so I am fairly certain that he is capped at the DSLAM and possibly at the Redback. His noise margins are better than mine. -- Jim Anderson |

It has to do with the database/profile conversions. I'll be able to fix it, but right now the DSLAM won't let me in. I'll keep trying and let you know. |
