dlink 713p DDNS not updating IP address

I have 713p with FW 2.60b6a. I have set up an account on dyndns.org. It seems that 713p sent an update to dyndns.org every few minutes, however my IP has not been updated.
On the DDNS setup page, there is not much to choose:
Line 1) DDNS: select "Enable";
Line 2) Provider: DynDNS.org or dhs.org (shame they comment out no-ip.com and a few others)
Line 3) Host Name: myhostname.dyndns.org
Line 4) username/email: my account ID on dyndns.org
Line 5) Password/Key: password for my account on dyndns.org.

A sample message from log page is:
"*DDNS:update myhostname.dyndns.org to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

But my IP has never been updated. Another proof is that dyndns.org blocks update "abuse" -- a update with same IP-- and so far, I haven't been blocked. Any one else have the same problem?

Hey, i'm getting the same problems...

It was working fine and then one day just stopped. I'm on the newest firmware and have been before the problems started arising. Would it be dyndns.org's fault or the router's fault... i'm jsut not sure

I have a fix, but you have to write a perl program. See

As a post mentioned before, they are using some weird URL to attempt to update the IP address. I am not sure where they got it from, but it sure does not match the one DynDNS has listed on »clients.dyndns.org/devel/query.php which is what they used in 2.6b2. I don't know why they changed it, but I sure hope they fix it soon.

What URL are they using?

They are using this one, where $U is username $P is password $H is hostname and $I is ipaddress.

"http://$U:$P@members.dyndns.org/nic/dyndns/$H?begun=1&ip=$I&wildcard=Y&mx=&backmx=Y&action=Modify+Host"

Then turn off that client, immediately. Automated updates to that URL (which is designed for humans only, and therefore uses about 400 times more bandwidth) are likely to get your dyndns.org account blocked for AUP violations.

Of course, this doesn't really matter, since the page was tweaked to no longer allow automated updates.
