AOL Networkers

Can everyone here whom has networked AOL with Routers please provide the make up of the router currently being used?

If possible I would like to develop a list of workable routers for it seems there are still a few incompatibilities. Perhaps it may prove useful if there a number people considering in buying a router in the future (since I'm getting IMs about it the last couple of days about purchasing routers and of such).

I can't believe this is all the response we've had after all the threads that have been generated to assist others in networking their AOL.

I think it would also benefit others if those people who have not been able to network their AOL also reported their setup in this thread.

Re: AOL Networkers

Hi, Lynksys Befsr41 router using the uplink port. I have it setup to obtain IP add. automatically. I have DCHP disabled. I manually set the IP add. on both machines. Both have 8.0 . Windows 98 and XP. Kerio and AVG on both. I have no problems whatsoever. Of course with the help of this site and its knowlegable members. Thanks T.C.

I just updated the firmware(2.44.2, Dec 13 2002) on my Linksys BEFSR81 and under the security tab theres an option for AOL parental controls. Not sure but I think its compatible. Had my networked through aol (when I had it)with the uplink port on the router. I have had experience with the action tech router (not sure what model but the 1 with the usb support) and aol cable.

So is this everybody on the list?

All right, I'll go ahead and right up a general list of with the listed configurable routers above.

Let's see, just one hawking tech switch and a buncha of other pooters and laptops with NICs. Going to try to see if I can setup one of the laptops to go wirelessly with a HawkingTech WAP; I'll post updates about that endeavor.
