I really like WinMX and hope that it is around for a long time. Although it is not very good for movies, it is great for finding rare, individual songs. For instance, in the past I used to look for bands I like on the fast track network. Fast Track clients would come up with maybe 5 - 10 hits, and half of those were usually mismatches. On WinMX, I will usually find about 20 matches on a bad day and over 40 on a good day.
I do not know why people complain about the queue system so much. Yes some users have large queue lines, but long queues can be found on any P2P network.
I look forward to the improved 'auto find sources' / 'auto complete' function that the article mentions. All to often I will have a file in my download window that never completes until I manually search and restart the download. |
