Can someone post a direct link to the results? cause on Nod's forum a poster wrote this. So someone is posting incorrect information.

quote:
That's a given!

I'm estatic I use NOD32, and I'm estatic I have converted some of my friends and co workers to NOD32. !!!

21 wins, 3 misses! WOW! That is a 87.5% winning ratio!

I think that's the best any AV could EVER have!

Vamp: I think the "21 wins, 3 misses" refers to the overall VB test record, for all months tested: thus on 21 months they passed, and failed on 3 months. The original poster is referring only to this month's test.

Quite frankly, I deeply respect VB but I don't think the ITW list is representative of the full spectrum of malware. I would like to see tests on a broader sample base than just the ITW list, with trojans and some non-ITW samples included. Yet I respect the VB100% mark as one mark of excellence for an AV product. But it is only one reviewer's perspective, albeit a prestigious one.

Warmly, Ran

I don't go all out for VB either, I know they barley test any product, But for people to post results, and no links is useless, I can't understand the results, and no link to read them.

Cumulative VB100% totals:
DrWeb - 12
NOD32 - 21

Does this mean DrWeb only detect 12, while NOD32 detected 21?
I went to VB site and there is no report of this, so the information is useless.

Hey Vampirefo was elected man of the year 2145, Of course I will refrain from posting a link, or explaining what the 2145 means.

Vamp - I tried to get some info on that for you and everyone else - but I think you have to PAY (big time) to get the printed version of VB.

Guess we'll have to wait for verification from ZDNet or Cnet or somebody. Pete

The VB100% is given for 100% detection of ItW viruses, but Virus Bulletin tests far more than only the ItW list. DrWeb and NOD32 both detected 100% of ALL viruses in the January 2003 test.

Virus Bulletin is not "only one reviewer's perspective", it has been the anti-virus industry benchmark for years, and you will find the only ones who say otherwise are those anti-virus companies that do not do well in Virus Bulletin tests.

"I know they barley test any product" shows how little you know.

The information is in the printed Virus Bulletin magazine. If there had been a link, I would have provided it.

Well according to VB100% Symantec is clearly the best AVP period, and I agree with that, but it's just a test.

Symantec haven't missed a virus since September 1999: Windows NT, So they have 12 wins in a row, maybe 13, I can't find this years results, no other AVP even comes close to 12 wins in a row, Rock on Symantec.

Hey I even provided a link. »www.virusbtn.com/vb100/archives/···ntec.xml

Correct. Some, but not all, information from current magazines is usually posted on the Virus Bulletin web site 2 to 3 weeks after publication.

Vamp: Yes those 21wins 3 loses refers to the VB100% awards themselves. have won 21 times now with 3 misses.

I used to have the links to it with FULL explanations, etc. looking now.

Will post back, because I know you can review the entire results on screen.

"Symantec hasn't missed a virus since September 1999:"

Rubbish. Subscribe to Virus Bulletin and you will find that Symantec has missed many hundreds of viruses since September 1999. NAV is a long way behind DrWeb, NOD32, KAV, and F-Secure on overall virus detection.

Not yet. The printed magazine is published only today. The web site usually follows 2 to 3 weeks later.

That's true
If someone would hold me a colt on the head and i had to descide between NOD32 and NAV i would pick NOD32
After the Person is leaving the room i would choose KAV or DrWeb *LOL*

I don't understand why you post results from Virus Bulletin, Then I go there and post their own results, showing NAV as the best AVP, then you call it Rubbish.

If anyone goes to that site, they will find the same link I posted showing NAV as the best, they can click on any AVP's results, and none of them are as good as NAV.

So if the site is Rubbish, don't post results from it.

I do agree that KAV is one of the best (if not the best, when trojans are included); but not because of VB, which is only one reviewer or test, no matter how prestigious or accepted, lol. :)
