| This is becoming a trend
Large cable companies trying to lower their losses are trying to sell their badly clustered cable districts. 2 years ago, they would do swaps with other large cable companies. Now valuations are in the pits and there are no takers. This is like selling out to asset manager. They are getting very little for their customers in these deals. They only got $1656/customer. Does anybody remember what AT&T paid for MediaOne??? $8000/customer, at the peak of the go-go days.
Time Warner is going to do the same thing with us. Sell to a local cable holdings company. IMHO, this counters good news for cable stocks that was on all of the other Reuters news for the cable stocks yesterday. |
