| Awesome free system information program Here is a program I found called AIDA32 that beats Belarc Advisor and others hands down. It gives you just about anything you need to know about your system and what's going on and is totally free. You can even click and go to the driver download pages for stuff. Very, very cool program. I attached some screens I took so you can see what it looks like. Get it here »aida32.hu/aida-download.php?bit=32 I'm using the Enterprise version which is still free. -- -Fingerprint-

 | That's a cool program, but I can't get the sensor part to work. It just brings up a blue screen with no info. Since I'm using my CPU to 100%, I was curious to know what the temp was -- It's really easy to join one of our Cancer fighting teams. JOIN TEAM HELIX! JOIN TEAM DISCOVERY UD/TSC! |

 | reply to winterforge What OS are you using? Are you using the Enterprise version? That's pretty weird, it worked great for me straight out of install without even rebooting. That's what I liked about this, now I can get rid of my other system monitor because this has it all including the mobo and CPU temps. -- -Fingerprint- Vincat veritas, libertas ipsaMember of the EFF |

Did you have to set the locations of the sensors or was it automatic. --

It was automatic, didn't even touch the settings or reboot. I'm on XP Pro. For the user where it doesn't work, it must be something to do with your motherboard not relaying information the way it should. -- -Fingerprint- Vincat veritas, libertas ipsaMember of the EFF |

I have used this program for quite some time. It reads the temps on 2 of my computers just fine but, on my Compaq it cannot read temps because the motherboard has no sensors on it. Can you read the temps in your BIOS? |

TurftechFlying on emptyPremium join:2002-01-03 Up the River | reply to winterforge I'm on a dual boot 98se/win2k so it will be interesting. I have tried others but getting it to read the sensors has been an issue. I'll try it!
Thanks! --

No..I just rebooted and checked BIOS...it does not have 'temps'. It's a phoenix 5/28/2002 OEM HP...You would think one that new would have it. I've got another comp that has a 2000 BIOS and it does temps!? odd!?
That must be the problem though. -- It's really easy to join one of our Cancer fighting teams. JOIN TEAM HELIX! JOIN TEAM DISCOVERY UD/TSC! |

I like it too. It's not your fault all of the features won't work because of a limited OEM BIOS -- It's really easy to join one of our Cancer fighting teams. JOIN TEAM HELIX! JOIN TEAM DISCOVERY UD/TSC! |

Don't think you be talking to me, cause everything works GREAT! I don't have a limited OEM Bios.

 | reply to winterforge No, DSmithlady meant because of her OEM BIOS setup that the program can't detect the mobo and CPU temp. It had nothing to do with you -- -Fingerprint- Vincat veritas, libertas ipsaMember of the EFF |

Aida32 was covered here a while ago, not that it is a bad thing to bring it up again. So many new people come and go that "old-timers" take some things for granted. Looks like it was time to mention it again
Two thinks I found while playing with it a while ago. One is that it did not ID my anti-virus and Two I wondered about including personal and confidential information in the report. Outside of that I like it. -- A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold |

 | reply to winterforge It doesn't detect my anti-virus either, I'm using AVG. It must only detect the "major" ones. That's fine though, I never even looked at that part until you mentioned it heh. -- -Fingerprint- Vincat veritas, libertas ipsaMember of the EFF |

Just sent a report to myself. Yes it gave everything. Product key and product ID for your OS and most programs. Email address with all the info.. Network addresses.
On my computer it gives all info an Norton System Works 2003. Software version, virus Database Date, number of known viruses.
One more thing the default email address where to send the report was to the author of the program, so check this before you send. With all the Preferences settings one might be able to adjust what is sent in the report.
