West Coast needs DCT5100 Software/Firmware Updates

When it comes to getting updates, why does it seem like the West Coast is months behind?!? (see examples below)

WEST COAST:
software: 50.00-1078
bootloader: 2.16
firmware: 2.40

EAST COAST:
software: 51.00-1132
bootloader: 2.16
firmware: 2.48

They even have the DVI option installed & enabled:o

I've called my local office numerous times. The first request for software/firmware updates was done that same week ... after the Superbowl *DOH!* All my following calls I've been speaking with patronizing lying f'tards ... and still NO UPDATES:( I tried e-mail'n too, but still NO UPDATES:( Where did all the great & knowledgeable people go?!?

Who do the red headed stepsubscribers on the West Coast need to contact for updates for our DCT5100s?!?

Re: West Coast needs DCT5100 Software/Firmware Upd

over here in Mich all of our DCT5100 DVI port are disabled with the new software, its only for future use when they decide to use it since there are almost no tvs on the market with this port.

:( WHO DO I NEED TO BRIBE TO GET SOME SERVICE HERE?!?

I'll bet you'll be getting the DVI port installed & enabled way before subscribers on the West Coast, the red headed stepchildren of Comcast:( I, myself, only have a dismal two hdtv channels (HBO hdtv & SHO hdtv). You probably have more than that, and was able to watch the Superbowl in HDTV. Picture & sound issues that firmaware (Ver. 2.46) & software (Ver. 51.00-1132) are desperately needed.

Latest News on the 5100

-- The 5100's with DVI have started being shipped, and there are a couple floating around and are in service, but from the feedback of the few that have them, the DVI port is not working properly, nor is it known if its HDCP compliant.

-- Starting the night of the February 18th - 20th there is a scheduled launch of the firmware (Ver. 2.48)(Philadelphia region) that will supposedly fix the problem with the Analog & Digital PQ, and maybe it will also get the DVI port working. Fingers Crossed.....

Not directly 5100 related but;

-- The Philadelphia Region has launched Comcast Sportsnet in HD. The first official broadcast was Feb. 15th, for the Philadelphia Flyers vs. Carolina Hurricanes. See the AVSForum thread with feedback on the broadcast. Check the Comcast Sportsnet website for all of the games that will be broadcast in HD in both the Philly region & Washington/Baltimore region. The Broadcasts are in 1080i during the game and revert back to 480i after.
