Re: [Email] Received this email today from CNET News

We sure did "just change our e-mail addresses"! For those of us who are subscribed to various services via our e-mail addresses, things like this become a royal pain in the ass.

As for price increases, cable prices have been creeping up 30 cents one month, then 65 cents the next, then 45 cents the month thereafter, etc. After a while, you're paying 20 bucks more per month than what you started paying and you hadn't even added movie channels or anything! A bunch of weasles, I tell ya.

I was told (AT&T 'tech' earlier this evening) that we'd be 'notified' 30 days before any changes.
I have noticed that my 'Speed Tests' have been in the 1700s/280s for a while now.

Doesn't it seem like we JUST had to change our email address to 'xxxxx@attbi.com'? (and before that MediaOne and RR).
I just hope that there are no more name changes for a good long while.....and oh yeah, likewise for price increases.
Some of us are living on (very small) 'fixed' incomes that haven't increased at the same rate as the prices.
That said, I'll cut back on other things to keep the SPEED!

Just called 1-888-comcast asked about the changed from att broadband internet to comcast.net the guy transferred me asked the same question the guy once again transferred me and asked the question again and he checked and switched my email. Took all of about 25 minutes and I have noticed that there is no hold time for the new comcast number BUT i called to check on the cable side yesterday and the guy was still using his att account information. So I guess its time to go to the local office tomorrow to check.

You're incorrect, email will be forwarded as the attbi.com domain will not be active for email. It will only be active as a forwarding service.

Comcast does not own the ATTBI domain and only got permission to use it as a forwarding service.

oh boy!!! As I have said in other posts, I will say it again now.

You will be recieving your new comcast.net email address in the next few weeks. Your Attbi.com email address will stay active till dec 2004, comcast will not be forwarding the email, cause there will be no need to. You can set up your attbi to do this if you want, but email will not be forwarded. As it stands you will have access to both accounts.

Hopefully, people will get this in there head soon...

No, you will be forced to make a comcast.net account in the next couple of months. After this, any mail sent to your attbi.com email address will be forwarded to the address of your choice until December 2004. They figure that's enough time for you to let people know that your email has changed.

Dear attbi.com Newsletter Subscriber,

As you may have already heard, your e-mail address ending in attbi.com will be changed to comcast.net beginning in March 2003. It will affect more than 2 million subscribers nationally. We understand that in most cases, your user name will remain the same, but your domain will change from @attbi.com to @comcast.net. We are alerting you of this because we want to make sure that you give us your updated e-mail address so that you continue to receive your CNET Networks newsletters in your inbox.

I thought this was staying as ATTBI for a while....has anyone heard anything about this?
