I officially hate the morons at ATT/Comcast. I live in Sacramento,CA(Antelope,CA to be exact) So I go to pick up my mail today, I get a letter from Comcast, formerly ATT, giving me idiotic explanations about their stupid name change.
Then they write, that my monthly internet service fee for customers who subscribe to Comcast High Speed internet access and do not subscribe to their moronic cable video service will be going up from $46.95 to $56.99!
I am outraged! What gives them the right to raise the price all they want? I am seriously thinking of CANCELLING and NOT RETURNING THE MODEM. I am sick of their crap. First of all, their service is pathetic. The installation guy was an idiot, he didn't tell me ANYTHING about the modem or other stuff. Their speeds are ok, but FOR NO REASON, I lose my connection. This has happened a few times. And when I call them, the computer voice gives me the stupid thing ATT calls "Power Cycling". It's freakin Cable Modem! It's not supposed to die or lose the connection!

um.. they are a business - they can do whatever they want with there rates. What gives the movie theatre the right to make prices more expensive on Friday and Saturday nights.. cuz they can make more money that way.
Agreed - prices are getting out of hand. But I still think if you compare speeds bit for bit of dial-up versus any kind of broadband, broadband looks pretty cheap. I seem to be the only one who has never really had any problems with my service - with @home or ATT. I had a few snags getting set-up, but once we got past that, things have gone very smoothly.
I wish you luck holding on to your modem. Some people may consider that theft, but hey - if you think its justified, go for it! I'll look for your name in the Bee later this week  -- Do you want to dance, or do you want to dance? - Thomas Crown |

| reply to inspiron_ver Ok guys Att is now Comcast be very aware they will try and screw you. I signed up for a year of service with ATT in november. The deal Started fine. I signed up for 46.95 a month a free modem and the first month free. Oh yeah 49.95 for install. Well got a letter today stating that my rate was going to go up to 56.99 next month. This not what I sign up for in Nov. of 2002. Well when I called comcast they said the prices are subject to change but that is not what came on the mailer and not what I agreed too. I unfortunatly don't have the mailer any more. But I was just thinking that they don't have my signature any where stating that I agreed to this either so I might as well keep the modem and cancel my service and go with roseville dsl. I hate them too but what can I do. If any one else is having this issue. Please e-mail Me at Carstud@attbi.com and also file a complaint at the Better business bureau. There is a far better chance of getting what we want if more of us complain about this. And maybe we can get what we want, them to honor there packages ( I know its a pipe dream but lets have some fun and sick the better BBB on them at least may be it will be a headache for them) |
