| Hard Drive Wipe?
I need a utility that can be used upon a boot of a computer to totally wipe its hard disks.
It must be able to fit onto a floppy disk and be able to do a DoD-style wipe of a drive.
Reason: A friend of my father's is retiring from the Post Office and he wants to rid his computer of all personal information.

| DoD wipe sounds a bit like overkill, though maybe I misunderstand the circumstances. If you simply write zeroes to the entire drive, the drive is then zeroed, except for attacks using specialized equipment.
You can get a utility to write zeroes to the entire drive from the disk vendors (they seem to be vendor-specific, though I don't know why).
