La Grange Highlands/Western Springs/Indian Head Park, RT (CEV) next to Pleasantview Fire Dept. parking lot on Plainfield hiding behind a bunch of evergreens. Service turned up 3/26/03 (Ridgewood, Western Springs) 1500/256 with headroom to spare (4700/1200 attainable). |

After 2 and a half years of waiting and waiting... I am finally getting a positive response on SBC's DSL availability website. I won't hold my breath, but I'll keep my fingers crossed that I can place an order through my SBC rep this week!  This would be perfect timing since I just got my 2610 router fully configed the other night to handle my ISDN line. Now all I need is to find a cheap ADSL WIC module...

A friend of mine successfully placed an order with SBC and was expecting the kit to be mailed to him. Of course SBC calls back and says that it was a mistake and he can't get it. He is on the RT at Thornwood. |

Like some others in the neighborhood I had been waiting 2 years for the RT to lite up, and it is finally completed. I ordered on Tuesday the 5th and was told it would be active on the 12th, however I got a call today that I was good to go and I am up and running with no problems.
Besides being given the run around for 2 years I am finally happy to have broadband.
Speedtests are as follows:
Download = 1.290 Mbps
Upload = 244.73 kbps |

| Work Crew in Carpentersville?
Does anyone know if the work being done in carpentersville, IL on Route 25 is RT related? There has been a work crew from sbc on Route 25 for the past two weeks. They worked in one manhole a couple hundred feet away from my RT and then in another manhole down the road the next week. It still appears that they are not done and now they have dug a huge hole and laid what looks to be new copper accross the street. If you have any info please post or pm. Thanks. |

There has been a RT in Jenison, MI somewhere near the 100 block on Baldwin St. It has been active for over a year now and I've had terrific service from it and SBC and employees! |

The RT that my phone line runs to is on 116th St. in Fishers. It's a small brick Ameritech building on the street, to the west of the town offices.
The CEV (underground RT) that's a hundred yards west of that on 116th, just east of Regency Dr., may also supply DSL.
