Seems to me that the benefit isn't directly for the consumers as it is EarthLink and Vonage, the average consumer won't know about Vonage, and will be leery of them, but does know the EarthLink name, and is more likely to sign up with them. It provides a significant potential user base increase that can not be easily gotten otherwise.

Earth		 Thats what I thought. I guess they're just paying for a name. I think Earthlink would have advertised this sub-product more then Vonage advertised their own product
