Of course its very easy to win that battle if you don't pay for the tools you use to wage it. Whether this investigation was started by SBC or not is irrelevant, Vonage has no business using unlicensed software to make money. Let them pay to play like everyone else has to, or go with some open source solution instead.

"Oh look, my car won't start"
"Hey, whats that SBC Maintenance truck doing here??"
"My car won't start, SBC truck by the curb, Oh my god, SBC has sabotaged my car!!!"

LOL

But I also assume it coincidence that the Municiple Broadband startup that Comcast admittedly hates was hacked and the email addresses of their customers sent to spam addresses?

ROFL! I once overheard a CTO at a company I worked at say he'd rather see a fire truck out front when he got there in the morning than a telco truck.
Sounds like a smart guy. Whenever an ISP opens a ticket with Covad for a downed-line, there's an area to specify whether any telco trucks/employees were seen in the area previous to the outage. It is genuinely a needed piece of info, because many of those monkeys like to take out their aggression on pairs tagged for SDSL. Sad, but true.

A conspiracy?? Man, thats just too funny to read.
You must blame everything on ILECs then?
"Oh look, my car won't start"

"My car won't start, SBC truck by the curb, Oh my god, SBC has sabotaged my car!!!"

The above was just a dramatization, any correlation between this and your reality, is purely coincidence and totally unrelated.
