Re: [Rant]I've been thinking...

What kind of parts would we need? How much money would it take? Could we commit to such a big project? Who would organize it? Would we be the first to try it for UD?

Guys I am A member of Crunchenstein Association Members.

I have been on the project from day 1.
And I must say that although that project brought a lot of excitement to the team
and probably made the team closer and much stronger by doing it at the outcome of it all.

I must add that it didn't come without road bumps.
And before it was all said and done there where a few members that did get there feelings hurt.
I believe that history does repeat itself.
But with that said we can also learn from the past and make sure that those same issues would not affect us.

But all of this can easily be followed up on by doing a little research in the Seti forum,
and seeing just how it all unfolded.

As for your questions NFX, the parts and money are very well documented and can probably all be found at the crunchenstein link that you have here.
As for your last 3 questions that is all up to us.
And if there is another project like this out there can probably be found at the UD forum.

I would truly love for this team to make something like this happen.
Maybe a good idea would be is for me to follow of on this post with a poll
to see how many members of this team would be interested in this project.

Before we started all this at Starfire we did a lot of research and one of those
things we looked at was the preliminary thought of our team members.
To see how many would get on this project if we went ahead and proceeded with it.
One major difference that we have at Starfire is that we probably have double the amount
of team members that we have for both UD and TSC.
And that might be important for many reasons that I won't go into in this post.
So Lets do a probe post and see how much interest there really is for something like this.

Hmm, i think i know what you're talking about. That is a big factor in a project like this, if we don't have the resources then it just won't take off (or maybe it will but the outcome may not be what we expect).

Disclamer** I had a decently long reply typed out and by fumble fingers it got deleted. Because I don't have the time right now to retype the dang thing I'll condense it down

One thing to consider is that it doesn't have to be 12 blades or even 6. One question to think about is where is the "Worth it?" line?
Does it take much to setup 2 boards? 4?
Granted the cost savings is not there on the equipment, time investment is lower as well as electric and cooling costs.

Is 2 or 4 blades worth the output for TSC or UD?

Just some things to think about.
