 [POLL] "Team Discovery Hope Machine"

Before I start this poll;
I think I need to give a little background and fill you all in,
On the developments here in the past few days.

A few members have shown interest in maybe making our own Crunchenstein.
I guess this was triggered by a post that I made mentioning the Crunchenstein.
»This Culprit Must Be ...

Also for the people that are not familiar with what is a Crunchenstein, this should help and tell you everything about it.

For this post I used "Team Discovery Hope Machine" which was suggested by Caliban instead of the Crunchenstein.
Of course if we ever did pursue in making this project and giving it a go ahead we would all need to vote on a name for this. But for the moment I'll call it Team Discovery Hope Machine so we are all on the same page.
And also that it will be unique from the machine that we built over at Seti.

This poll will be a fairly simple one and will not deal with many issues of the project. But it will be just an idea to see how the rest of the team feels about doing something like this.

And now on to the poll.

Poll
do you believe that team discovery should try in making a Team Discovery Hope Machine ?

yes

no

undecided

Or maybe you feel that we should wait till we have more team members.
Your comments and suggestions are all welcome and appreciated so we can have more input into all this.
But since this is a poll your input will be just fine also.
The more members we have respond to this the better idea we will know where we stand at this time.

This idea didn't go anywhere when I brought it up in the past. I guess the time just wasn't right for it.

Interest is certainly picking up now, so I interpret that to mean that the time is now right.

Let's do it!

I'm absolutely behind it and committed and I think it should be said, we can do this at what ever level we agree upon. There's no doubt that with the smaller family we have here compared to Team Starfire we couldn't build or maintain something on the order of the Crunchenstein, but we should do something, to bring people together, create goals, and do as much as we can for UD and TSC. Tell me what you need or what you want me to do, I'm ready. I sincerely believe this is a good thing and I hope that the Team feels the same.

I think the recent influx of Seti people we've had is behind this.:D Thanks!

Our TD family has always been ready to lend a hand, so I expect that as soon as the logistics are worked out, the parts and cash donations will flow.

I'm all for this as well. If funds are a issue we could always look at making the Hope Machine from parts donated from fellow users to create the blades. It might result in a little more work for the host to maintain but it will allow us to have more blades running for TSC & UD.

I'm interested in hearing from some of the folks who voted NO.

If we want to make a truly informed decision, we should hear all sides of the issue.

Captain we normally don't make anything a sticky....

But if it all possible can we make this one a sticky?

It should give more members a chance to respond and vote.

If we do go ahead with this, then we need to know all the sides and get as many people involved as possible.

i voted yes.
I hope everyone gets a chance to vote/post because i'm sort of feeling the bigger guys in this team don't like this idea seeing as they haven't showed their input.

Well, I for one voted as undecided.
I'd love to see it happen and be involved in its process, but it can be a large project.

Even moving forward from this point is going to involve alot of effort but I'm encouraged by the response.

I voted yes. It sounds like a good idea to me as long as people are willing to make it possible and not just voting because it sounds good.

I think it's a great idea. I don't know that I can support financially (I've got 5 kids!), but I'll support it any way I can.

I really like the name, too!

I voted *YES*. I think its a terrific way to bring us all even closer together. I would be willing to add whatever I can to the project. Based on what I have read in the Introductions thread, we certainly have the brains and the brawn.
