 Advice for TD?

Team Discovery looks in awe at the wonders of the Crunchenstein and the Foldinator. We covet the crunching power, and we begin to make plans. We're holding a poll, and a large majority of the voters think it's a good idea.

Having been down that road before, what advice can you give us? What pitfalls can you warn us to avoid? What shortcuts can we safely take?

This is the first tread that I can find that started the Foldinator project
It was started in the Team Helix Forum and then transfered here.

You can find a copy of the likely to be Foldinator articles here

I would suggest that you start a thread in the Team Discovery forum and see how many potential members you can catch and then transfer it here or start another here.

And don't forget to have the mods update the FAQ's when you get started. People may look there to find what you are etc..

Good luck!

Well First, make sure you have a full and clear idea of where you want to go and how you want to get there.

Make you plan as simple and as detailed as you can.

Plan your systems based on the amount of money you will have, dont try to make a big system and then try to raise the money.

Make backup and alternate plans as thing will not go the way you expect. ( Murphy's Law )

The final Operators are key to maintaining and affording the Beast. Power costs have to be factored in.

Overall just take it slow and make sure in your case you figure out how to cover both projects, and not divide the team.
