Re: lag spikes in games...

First off... Welcome to dslr!

Couple of questions...
Are you able to tell if its network lag, or if your FPS (frames per second) is dropping?
Low FPS can make it look like your net connection to the game server is poor, and vice versa.
Some games will allow you to display what FPS you're getting, making it easier to tell which is lagging.

my FPS is dropping. I can tell that in Battlefield 1942. but it doesnt only drop in multiplayer but in singleplayer as well. This happens in all my games too and not just Battlefield.

Ok... I wanted to clarify... lag is often to referred to a poor net connection...
Go to control panel, go to system, click the hardware tab, click device manager, under view, select "resources by connection" and expand the the IRQ list. See if you have any conflicts.

do you mean just expand it by clicking the + next to the IRQ list?? And make it so it shows the sub-items?

I had the same problem with another game what i did is if you havent already update all your drivers for your video card . Go to the directx panel click on each side panel and make sure there is no conflicts there that is the main problem for that to happen. If everything is good there try reinstalling the game and deleting the folder it was in after u uninstall it. That fixed it for me hope it works for you gl.
