Re: Not a chance in hell

Well, to respond to your statement, the 33% increase, well, even with at&t you would be able to get basic 1 service even if you didn't want cable tv, over that same line the internet comes in on, well, you now have a choice, you can get the internet with basic 1, and save money, or pay more and get just the internet. Honestly, I agree to a certain point, but then again, I can see why you would have to pay extra. Just be glad their internet is not like 90% of the other ones out there, where you need a contract, unless it is dial-up. I know it is enough to piss anyone off, but think of it this way, I know ATTBI sucked, badly, at least the cablemodem service comcast has is much more reliable. It is off the same server, but the network as a whole is better, I noticed a change in latency and hops, so it is obvious some routing has changed. All I can say is if you have a dish, or you just flat out don't want cable tv, then thats your choice, but even still, if you have a dish, just get locals thru the cable company, and you will not pay that large increase, not to mention, you will get your locals even in the rain. As far as comcast being different then ATT, they must be, because I know now I can reach someone on the phone, IN JACKSONVILLE with me, not in some distant call center, not to mention, they actually make the appointments I set now. I have been able to get my cable fixed like it should have been fixed finally because of the change over to a different company. Evidentally, when it was broadband, the main office in denver did not have all the info for my house, so they could not find the problem before. I do know it is regionally ran now, so that is a plus. I guess all I am really trying to say is a change will not occur overnight in a situation like this, and in the process of changing, I can understand certain things not being done, but hey, if the price increase don't fly in opinion, then explore other alternatives, because I am sure the last thing any company wants to do, believe it or not, is piss off their customers, and if you are unhappy, and calling them doesn't fix it, then going elsewhere will show you are unhappy for now. Just be careful, because all the other services out there require contracts. Good luck. I am done.

The ONLY thing that Comcast is proving it's commitment to is the almighty dollar.

For Comcast to; " raise broadband rates 33% for users who don't subscribe to their television services ", smells like unfair business practices, but being the only game in town for cable service in MANY areas, they have the arrogant attitude that they can do as they please.

So far, no one has stood up to them and said; "No, you CAN'T do what you please, there are laws in this country and you have to follow them".

Until that happens, there is nothing stopping Comcast from becoming an already BIGGER monopoly then they already are....
you hit that dead center .... for a lot of places it's either comcast or dial up ... no other choices
