Dreamweaver. »www.macromedia.com/ Considered by most to be the Rolls Royce of Web Design Software.

Have you looked at Adobe GoLive yet?

Somewhere
How about MS Word saved as HTML? Dreamweaver will most likely have a steeper learning curve than FrontPage. Word will be OK for basic stuff. If you know HTML, just use notepad.

The easiest by far of the no frills basic WYSIWYG editors is IMS WebDwarf (Adware/Shareware) »www.virtualmechanics.com/products/dwarf/ with true drag & drop versatility.

My second recommendation would be Evrsoft 1st Page 2000 (Freeware) using the easy mode at »www.evrsoft.com/

Third choice for easiest would be Namo WebEditor 5.5 »www.namo.com/ which comes bundled with a pretty decent graphics program. (Retail $89.00)

Lastly for ease of use Microsoft FrontPage 2002 (Retail $129.) But I would hold off on this as FrontPage2003 is about to be released within a couple of months.

I wouldn't consider either Adobe GoLive or Macromedia Dreamweaver as easy to use editors. Both are extremely expensive running around $399.00 and have a considerable learning curve. For the new or casual user there's better alternatives.

How ironic that the "better" Macromedia's Dreamweaver gets the more complicated it becomes to the new user. I own it and I love it. However, were I just starting as a web designer, I would take one look at it and be overwhelmed.

Give IMS WebDwarf a try, it's free and you'll be making pages within five minutes. »www.virtualmechanics.com/products/dwarf/

Please give me some names.
Do you know if there are any better then front page?
Or should I just spend more time learning front page?

I have front page 2002 and dreamweaver. I have always used front page but was thinking I should try something different

There's NetObjects Fusion 7 »www.netobjects.com/ (Retail $149) which combines the ease of WebDwarf with the versatility and power of Macromedia Dreamweaver. Since you already have FrontPage I would stick with that. Find a book one that I highly recommend is 'essential FrontPage 2002 for Web Professionals' by Tiffany K. Edwards ISBN 0-13-093254-X for $29.00 at larger booksellers.

The same folks that make WebDwarf have a one-step-up product called WebSpinner but it isn't free. You asked for easy, and it just doesn't hardly get any easier than WebDwarf and/or WebSpinner.

I quickly outgrew Frontpage and I'm so glad I learned Dreamweaver.

My friend, purchase Dreamweaver. If you plan to make a career of web design, you might as well make the investment now. You'll be glad you did. If this isn't something you plan to do often, go the cheaper and easier route (the route with an easier learning curve, that is).

The best way to learn Dreamweaver is by working with a tutorial. I recommend purchasing Dreamweaver MX: Building on Solid Foundations. It's an e-book (Adobe Acrobat)> For the beginner (and intermediate), it's a "must have."

I learned on FrontPage 98. I have always liked FrontPage, but I also like dreamweaver. Don't be fooled by people who say that this program or that program is the right one for you. If your not happy with FrontPage tell us why?

You say you don't know HTML..? Well FrontPage taught me cause I'd make tables then I'd look at the code. There is a lady at work that was using notepad and trying to make tables and she said she didn't use the web-editors cause they put in "junk code" yet it took me 15 Seconds in FrontPage to created what was taking her all day in notepad to create.

Dreamweaver is a great Program. FrontPage is a great Program. More people have FrontPage because of the M$ office than Dreamweaver.

Again, you might want to tell us what you think the limitations of FrontPage are?

Well It's just I wanted to know whats best to start out with I have used frontpage for some time just never looked to deep into it! (I used frames and so on and I do not want to do that anymore it sucks lol) I just pick up a couple of book on it. to help me with the nextt steps.

So in all thanks guy and girls for all your help I think I'm just going to stick it out with frontpage for now and see how it goes. ( i know it must do much more them I know how LOL)

Thanks bluebearmx
