Kind of what owned said all ready.
My ISP does allow websites to run as long as you don't sell anything out of them. I do run hosting off my PC and connection(384kbps) for pics and screenies. But since I am now moving in to bigger stuff I had to pay for my service. 12$ for reliable fast service it is really worth it. 
I did learn a bit, so as long as it is something temp and does not cost you more than it's worth then I suggest to be cool.
