| Weekly Contest, Week 6... Week 5 was by far the most difficult to choose. It took 4 judges, who chose a total of 12 different pictures, before there was more than one vote for any one picture; Sc0tt , in his first contribution, gets the nod.
This week, for a change of pace, let's try 'Unusual Architecture'...

(non-eligible entry here...) It was such a nice morning that I took my camera with me when I went shopping. I liked the way the light hit this building, and it gave me the idea for this week's contest. -- the large print giveth, and the small print taketh away ***ATMFAQ**DIFAQ*** |

Not sure if this qualifies or not, but it is kind of architecture. The opening to an old mine in Big Cottonwood Canyon, Ut. I shot this last fall as it was just starting to snow for the first time that year. |

| I don't judge them unless I have to...
What usually happens is that I'll look around, and grab some poor sucker random person or two, and say 'pick three'. I don't give them any particular instructions, as I think a visceral reaction is best for this. They'll generally agree on at least one; if so, it's easy (especially if the cat agrees with the choice). If necessary, I grab more, until there's some level of agreement.
When it is structured in some way, I do mention that, though. -- the large print giveth, and the small print taketh away ***ATMFAQ**DIFAQ*** |

Perhaps we should recommend your techniques and methodology to the Ice Skating Federation, and perhaps the cat should have a good sniff of the participants as well -- Ask yourself, Who made the router? Who developed the OS? Do you feel lucky Punk? If it isn't ZyXEL its probably not working!! |

I thought the combination of the texture of the marble, the straight lines, and the light made this interesting.
This was taken at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles and the marble is from the same quarry that supplied the Colosseum in Rome -- Operation Iraqi Freedom websites updated 4-10-03 |

I don't know if you'll count it as architecture, but I also don't know how else to classify it. Traveling around, looking for a new rock climbing area, we saw this wonderful cemetery. There are several of these tree-like tombstones there. This one was placed in 1899. They are made of concrete, and according to a local historian, they were formed by a lost process. -- I had a pet peeve once, but I quit feeding it and it went away....(TM) [text was edited by author 2003-04-14 17:45:44] |

Isn't architecture a form of art? |

| Of course, but not all art is architecture!
I will show you art and architecture, but I have to get in the mood first, perhaps late Saturday night when only the mice are about, the deluge will come. In the meantime indulge in this post I submitted in week 3 »Here we go again (with a twist)...Weekly Contest 3
