| reply to jazzman916 For many years and places cable.
Went to DTV in 1999 and switched to DISH in 2001 (mostly for programming reasons) The TCI/ATT/Comcast cable system here REALLY sucks, not to mention obscenely priced.
Currently have HBO/Cinemax, but will be canceled soon since they are STILL dominantly (re)running the same garbage they have for the past 15 years... with a SPRINKLING of new stuff and new movies.
Had Showtime a few months ago... it was even worse but had a $25 rebate so the two months were free. Only thing I really miss there is Sundance but you can't get that by itself. Showtime sucks even more than HBO.
I have DISH's Amer Top 100, and since I am outside mandated local coverage (and hate the Miami stations anyway) I have the LA networks... since I am up late works out well prime time starting at 11pm. (As well as seeing afternoon shows at night... plus with a PVR time is sort of irrelevant) I don't believe Cal Worthington is STILL alive and STILL selling cars (The guy Johnny Carson made fun of for years) -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)

| reply to jazzman916 We've had DirecTV since shortly after it came out (and let me tell you it was expensive to buy the equipment back then!)
We seldom have issues with it other than short weather outages. The few times we've had to call them, customer support has always been very good.
We are in a very rural location and it's doubtful that cable will ever come within 5 miles of here. -- SRS | Earthlink | Win2K SP3 | G11 | 1370 | ver. 4.0.3.9 | NO SP-B | Gateway .55 |

DirecTV.. customer for 2+ years and love them. Charter is horrible in my area and DTV fills the void . Edit: Have 2 receivers with one being an ultimateTV recorder as one of them. That thing is awesome !! -- //insert witty comment myPostCount++; [text was edited by author 2003-04-13 22:36:07] |

| reply to jazzman916 I have DirecTV since 1994. I also have basic "antenna" service from Adelphia Cable to cover over-the-air. I did switch to thier Digital service for two months, but it didn't offer the channels I liked so I went back to DTV. -- |DW|BE|4.0.3.9|NO SP-B|DrTCP Tweaks|G4R/1370-H|Proxy On|Gateway.18|Host Computer:P4/2gig|768mg DDR RAM|WinXP Pro SP1|ICS w/2 clients| |
