| Are they completely toast?
Like all the other Verizon-based DSL customers, I've had no service since Monday, and the DSL Designs "support" line just says "service is out due to a 'discrepancy' with Verizon". I called Verizon tech support, who verified that all DSL Designs customers were suspended.
I'm about ready to call Verizon and have the service moved to them. Any thoughts from other users? |

| Yo, They didn't pay their bill to Verizon. Also, word on the street is they are trying to get all their stuff outa the office after hours. Someone has all the info and some pics of the kids and their cars from last night, I goto get ahold of that, im sure the police and the Better Business Beureau would love to meet them.! |

| reply to quiddich Nobody can switch the DSL service until they are disconnected from your existing telephone. That is the response I get from Verizon... they can't even cancel my existing telephone line.
I've heard that they have 30 days by law to disconnect you. But you have to notify them, I've called, faxed, emailed, even stopped by their office. I guess I'll be holding on to that bill I just received.
Anyone know how to get disconnected immediately, or officially start that 30day clock ticking?
Looks like dialup time, meanwhile, it's time to flush them out and hunt them down. Hiding from customers is not acceptable. |

| reply to quiddich My DSL Designs service was on my second phone line, so I don't have to wait for them to release the line -- I ordered the new service on my primary line. That didn't help with Verizon...they still say they're "full" for now, so it'll be interesting to see if Speakeasy can come through for me quickly.
I'm planning to send a certified letter to DSL Designs to officially cancel service; I've already stopped the automatic payment authorization with my credit card company.
Their status page (»web.dsldesigns.com/mrtg/router1/···3_0.html) shows a lot of traffic on their upstream link; wonder how long before that link gets pulled? -- -- David |

| reply to quiddich Just called their "service" line again, and the message says (as of 2:45pm Pacific 17 April):
The Judge has ruled. All DSL Designs Verizon DSL lines will be turned back on as soon as possible. Worst-case ETA is noon 18 April.
They also say they'll be fully-staffed tomorrow.
We'll see. -- -- David |
