| Are you referring to an incoming phone number with Canadian area code?
For outgoing calls to Canada, you can use Vonage. Deltathree also includes Canada in it's monthly plans for outgoing calls.
I'm going to try and add to the list. I'll put on if Canada is included in plans. |

Well, the local voicemail number for VirtualPhone Line is the same as the Vonage voicemail phone number - so it would stronglyappear that they are reselling the vonage service for $99/month! Nice markup. -- Unofficial Vonage FAQs -- |

While I probably agree, Vonage may contract out their voicemail services to the same provider.

| reply to x____ Lingo »www.lingo.com ATA based. $19.99/mo for USA, Canada and Western Europe calling. Many features including Simultaneous Ring, ACR, CWCID, add up to 3 lines to one account. Rock solid.
wIPphone »www.wipphone.com ATA based, softphone too. World wide company. Many plans - Basic (no monthly, .049 cents/min), WWSaver (5.95/mo with .023 cents/min), NASSaver (9.95/mo with 1200 outgoing mins/month) plus several Europe and Asia plans. With a plan (not Basic), a NY phone number comes free, a local rate center is 3.95/month, a tollfree is 2.00/mo with .02 cents/min incoming. Incoming minutes are free on regular US phone DID. Can also buy bulk outgoing minutes. To me, it is a mix and match type phone company. Use what you need. Rates are very reasonable. Most ATAs are 29.95 (act. fee) plus 9.95 shipping. The backbone is IP to IP calling. If someone you call alot gets an ATA or just the softphone(free), calling IP# to IP# is free. Features are few - CID, Call Forwarding, Call Conferencing. Make changes in web portal as you need them. Rock solid.
Sorry for the quick detail. Some of it was gleaned from emails from customer sales dept. Ive been using them for a short time, very impressed with the service. It's no frills and works quite well.
If you are not quite sure about $20, 25, 35+ a month, try wIPphone. |

| reply to x____ You forgot one, Earthlink.
I signed up about six weeks ago, and can give them nothing but high marks. I know they get the sevice from Vonage, but getting VOIP from Earthlink avoids dealing with Vonage. What I like best, from reading some of the complaints about Vonage CS, is that I deal with Earthlink CS. They have the answers to my problems, and are always there.
So, I get my internet access from Earthlink through Time Warner, and VOIP from Earthlink through Vonage. Earthlink cable acces costs less than RoadRunner from Time Warner and Earthlink VOIP costs the same as from Vonage, but less than Time Warner's VOIP. |
