| reply to Spore Cloud The ability to kill so many borg is explained by the fact that Borg didn't have such advanced tech yet. Also I believe Female Vulcans also go through Pon Far. As far as that goes the doc is the only one who witnessed it. I think He kept mum about it didn't he? |

Leonard Nimoy recounts the events behind the Roddenberry's script changes for the 3rd season episode Is There In Truth No Beauty? in a book - I'm pretty sure it was in William Shatner's book Star Trek Memories (link to amazon). |

| reply to Logan 5 I've seen plenty of interviews where Nimoy mentioned the battle they had over the IDIC. He didn't want to wear it and speak the dialogue that was to go with it. They came to a compromise where Diana Muldur would ask if he was wearing the Vulcun IDIC (or something like that) and I think he responded back "to honor your presence" or such.

Y'know, Brannon & Braga could wipe out this whole season just by having Archer or T'Pol wake up and dismiss it all as one, wierd-ass dream.

We have a winner. It is the original episode without any of the scenes cut to make room for commercials. I was amazed when SCI FI did something similar with TOS. There were scenes in some of the shows that I had never seen before. -- "Are you on the Distributed Computing Map?" |

| reply to Leif3 I think City tv has changed Enterprise from 8pm to 10pm... Guess its doing poor in the ratings... lmao...
btw what exactly is Star Trek uncut on TNN????? At first I thought it was uncut as in commercial free.. That theory was soon broken. That is how I approach Star Trek shows now. Voyager fooled me once. I won't let Enterprise complete the job of ruining my passion for Star Trek.

| reply to quanta Archer mentioned to Topal an story that cochern told at a graduation party. Cochern said that just before his launch there was a battle between cyborg type people and humans from the future. Archer went on to mention that cochern retracted that story less then a week later. | reply to vfpguy What gets me is they have enmassed a gigantic amount of information on the Borg, and their nanoprobes, not to mention the videos, photos and audio recording of them saying, "Resistance is futile" and physical evidence of their technology left over on Enterprise. And yet Brannon and Baga can justify the TNG era not knowing about the Borg because the Borg never told their name to the NX-01?
Guess they don't have Google. Or, this is an alternate reality. -- Happy customer of LONDON14CG0 Canadian DSL Troubleshooting and Why Can't I Get It? FAQs |

| reply to vfpguy I saw the show this sunday, even after reading many of the clearly posted spoilers here... 1]You cannot start out with a car, and by using whats inside the car convert it into a jet plane. Thats what seemed to be happening with the shuttle. It started out as a wrap 2 max local space craft and by the time it was destroyed was able to hit wrap 5 or higher. Same goes for the weapons on the shuttle. You can't take a flint lock rifle and convert it into a nuke bomb unless you have access to all the right equipment in the time of the flint lock. 2]About the Doc resisting the nano probes; and being able to destroy the nanos with dose of raditation. Resistance is futile, and I think the probes should have been able to withstand or at least started to withstand the doses of raditation they were given.
Whats next is the Enterprise begins her mission as a war ship. Next season will be more fighting and destruction. I think the Klingons and the Romulans as well as a "new" race will try stomping out earth.
I had this thought watching Enterprise last night, and it would be a "kool" plot twist. What if the Enterprise we are watching isn't part of the star fleet we grew up with as kids...
In other words what if we are watching the "universe" of the other spock and the other kirk? [TOS Mirror, mirror, where the kirks and spocks are switched from an alternate reality] Now that would be a nice twist . -- I killed my friend of ten years today. | reply to vfpguy Re: Enterprise - SPOILERS INSIDE
Saw the *Borg* episode tonight, and I totally agree that is was horribly, terribly....BAD
I agree that the doctor should not have been so easily able to get better from being infected with 24th century Borg nanoprobes by a simple 'radiation bath'. If Picard and Crusher could not stop them, why should we believe that Archer & Phlox could with far inferior technology.....?
The whole concept of a Star Trek series 'breaking new ground' or being 'unique' in some way is long gone.
Enterprise is nothing compared to ST:TNG or DS9 or even the mediocre Voyager.. Without new plotlines & story arcs, you can only 'inbreed' the same old story ideas across the franchise a finite number of times before you reach 'critical mass' and run out of ideas....
It's been only 1 season of Enterprise and they're already recycling the Borg??? what's next after the Klingons, Rimulans, Ferengi?? Can the writers produce anything even remotely palatable??
Only time will tell...... [text was edited by author 2003-05-12 00:27:09] |

| reply to seaquake said by seaquake : Bottom line, the Borg are assimilating the Star Trek Franchise.
Also, if the part with the Doctor becoming infected were left out, the episode as a whole would have been better. That was my main reason for disliking it. How can he cure it so easily when it is nearly impossible to cure HUNDREDS OF YEARS in the future?

But the people in charge have ripped up the time line before like no WWIII but Kan's and company takeover then final leaving of Earth. But in First Contact and the first STTNG they did have WWIII! |
