| Week 10 Contest...Flowers! OK, it's kitsch, it's expected, it's easy. It's also Mother's Day, so we should have flowers for all the mothers to enjoy.
Last week's crop had to be judged while the boss was asleep; I don't know how she'll feel about the results, but I'm sure that Grover and Grumpy aren't unhappy with them.
The rules:
Limit one entry per person, per week. Discussion is discouraged. (though that doesn't stop the creation of a 'companion' thread, for that purpose). Remember that the picture will be reduced to 200 wide x140 high. -- the large print giveth, and the small print taketh away ***ATMFAQ**DIFAQ*** |

Boy, this was hard to pick--as a rock climber, I take lots of wildflower photographs.
Details: Olympus C-2100UZ. +1 diopter close-up lens. Natural, partly cloudy sky for the background.
-- To make a long story short...don't tell it!

Taken two days ago in Granada, Spain. This type of house, surrounded by a garden and separated from the street by a wall and a chancel is called a "carmen", and its very common to see flowers protruding from them. The picture was taken at about 1 PM, which corresponds to 11 AM sun time.

Tough choice this week narrowing it down to just one. This is a photo of a serendipitous arrangement of clematis and jasmine that occurred on out back deck railing this spring. -- SRS | Earthlink | Win2K SP3 | G11 | 1370 | ver. 4.0.3.9 | NO SP-B | Gateway .55 |

Space Flower This is perhaps the most unusual flower I have ever encountered in Key West. I wish I had a better side view... it was at the top of a 12 foots succulent (cactus like) plant I still have never really gotten the name of though many know of it by description. First one I had ever seen flower though. Really looks like some alien life form out of Star Trek or something with it upside down flowers supported by tripod stems. -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)
