| fox news - comcast internet upgrades in Dallas
Saw Fox news at 9 tonight. Story about snowy cable TV reception. Comcast's explanation was they were doing cable internet upgrades. Sounded like this was the city of Dallas -- not suburbs, actually Dallas. Didn't catch the part of town, though.
Anyone have any idea where in Dallas they're rolling out? Had heard that far north Dallas has comcast internet already. I'm in NE Dallas, near N end of White Rock Lake. |

| I can tell you that specific channels (5:KXAS, 34:CNN, others) have been snowy or unusually dark for a while in Carrollton. We've had digital cable and Internet in my neighborhood since at least Spring 2000 (when we moved in).
We don't subscribe to any premium movie channels, and I'm wondering if maybe the line traps for those channels are encroaching into the basic channels (6:Cinemax blocking parts of 5:KXAS for example). |

| reply to jmaline i live near white rock lake in dallas, nearest large intersection garland/grand and winsted (spillway). several blocks up winsted there is a city park on the right (i think it's called white rock lake park). we live right across winsted from the park. (we have sbc dsl and very good service.) about a week ago a comcast internet truck and driver were stopped in that park and i asked him what's up. he indicated comcast is coming into the area with cable internet. he did not know how soon but said comcast would start notifying folks when their service is available. |

@151.138.x.x | reply to jmaline Comcast says they've just added cable Internet to southeast Flower Mound. Until now, we've been unable to get any kind of broadband in my subdivision. Install date's on Tuesday... guess we'll see. |

| reply to jmaline I'm in Plano (Legacy and Alma) and Comcast has been laying new cables all over my apt complex ... can't find out any details, just heard from apt. management that they were upgrading the lines.
I have ATTBI/Comcast for internet but use satellite for TV, so can't comment on reception issues.

| reply to jmaline I'm talking about us broadband-deprived folks whose addresses end in "Dallas TX". I know many of you suburban folks have cable modem available.
Still nothing in my area of town (NE Dallas near White Rock Lake). But my partner did get a mailer saying cable modem service was available. That was in a high-rise building NE of Northwest Highway and Preston. The comcast.com website didn't say his address had cable modem available. Anyway, it sounds like a promising sign... |
