| A90-210030-04 with Netgear Router problems
Hi, I have one of my clients using Bellsouth DSL with the Westell A90-210030-04 with a Netgear FM114P Firewall Router. I want to use the Netgear to handle the PPPoE connection and it works fine...for a few minutes and then locks up. I don't have experience with this Westell product. Does anyone know if it ships with Bridged mode as the default? Any reason why it might be causing problems with the Netgear maintaining it's connection? Thanks! |

| reply to PretzelDude Hi PretzelDude, I had the same issue with a customer of my company. It wasn't my responsibility, but since I've worked with routers, Westells, and DSL, I decided to fix the problem.
The customers Netgear FVS318 did the same thing. Would work fine doing the PPPoE for a random period of time, then the Netgear would lock up.
To remedy the problem, the Westell had to be set to 'Bridged Ethernet'.
Here's a FAQ on the procedure. »AT&T Southeast Forum FAQ »What is the proper way to configure a Westell modem with a generic router?
