| Westell B90-36R515 doesn't respond
I have B90-36R515-01 connected to Win95 system. Modem works fine with SMC router. However, I connected modem directly to NIC to install & run the diagnostic utility and ran into problems. The modem can't be discovered by the diagnostic installers, nor by the ModemUpgrade utility. When I ping 192.168.2.255, I get no response when the modem is connected to the NIC and its "link" and "ready" lights are on.
I don't know the firmware version of the modem and don't know how to discover it. This modem was distributed by Verizon when I got the DSL service back in August, 2000.
I'd appreciate any advice.

@140.212.x.x | What OS are you running? I found that the firmware upgrade/diagnostics will not find the modem under WinXP.

join:2003-01-07 Glen Mills, PA | I'm running Win95. But your question triggered me to try another machine running Win98. I was able to both upgrade the firmware and run the Westell diagnostic. So thanks alot for raising the OS flag.
