 Cigarettes vs. Quickdraw

This is hilarious. After about 3,000 bars in NYC pulled the plug on their Quickdraw machines in a one-day protest of the cigarette ban (which cost the state about $500,000), a number of upstate bars and restaurants are threatening the same when the similar NY State law goes into effect in a few days. LOL! This has really turned amusing.

Gotta admit, I still haven't gotten used to the smoke-free bars yet. It just doesn't feel like a bar.

That's smart. If bars hold out for 5 days thats $2,500,000. I don't think it hurts the state cause all they will do is raise the sales tax or the liquir license fees and hurt the bar owners more then they get hurt.

I went to Donovans on Roosevelt Ave, and the business is still brisk they had a party of 70 in a back room. The wait time was only 5 mins compared to when I last went there... when smoking was allowed we had to wait an hour and a half for a seat. Both visits were on a saturday at the same time: right after St.Sebastians' 5 pm mass. The smoking ban has made it easier to get a seat in a restuarant.

Yeah, I'm not a smoker but I still can't picture smoke-free bars.

I love Quick Draw! I won $30 today while out at lunch

I haven't been to Donovans in years! That's a good place. But that's right - I'm not a smoker either and yet it just doesn't feel like a bar. Not saying that I want to breath in the smoke, but it's just......odd!

I am hopeless with Joker Poker, but I've actually never tried Quickdraw (probably because I've lost all my money with Joker Poker). LOL! $30 is nothing to sneeze at during lunch.

I think the state is actually quite angry at the one-day cut-off that happened a few days ago!
